Simple Writing Style

My writing style is deliberately simple because I want to make sure that my target audience understands exactly what I’m trying to communicate. I don’t like wasting my time on flowery and poetic works of art because, in this instance, it’s not particularly necessary, and again, it’s simply not my style.

I have never tried to portray myself as some highly intellectual being, looking to be acknowledged for my supernatural writing skills. In fact, I am not waiting with bated breath for anyone’s approval but, only desire to relay my message. I have too much locked on the inside, trying to get out, to waste time beating about the bush with pretty writing. I’ll just leave that to all the gifted scholars out there, who are eloquently able to blow your socks off. That’s just not me at this present time.

Most of the time, I focus on trying to keep my raw emotion from seeping into my words. However, my pain slash anger is quite evident, I have often been told. Is that a good or bad thing? Well, I don’t care so much as long as what needs to be said is said.

Sometimes it’s the emotion behind the experience that needs to be relayed, for the true message to reach home. What’s the use of writing with delicate precision, only to lose the essence of the story? I don’t mind a few errors or typos; if I am moved by the sincerity of your words. You can always tell when the writer has actually lived their story. The words no longer matter, just the raw truth behind the words, told in its simplicity, will do.

I have worked up the courage for years, to start telling mine. I pray God helps me to tell it as it really is, with no dressing it up or withholding details. Nothing but the truth. So if you think that my language is poor, then you have missed the whole point.

I have finally reached the stage in my life where I can look down on my grey hairs and battle scars with deep pride. God has spared me. He has brought me through some of the most horrendous situations you can ever imagine. He has kept me sane. He has never let me go.

So I will find the strength to share my experiences, and hopefully, encourage those of you who need to hear my simple words.
